Automated Password Reset Plugin for Joomla released !

Password Security is something that you can never be too careful about. Having a weak password & not changing it periodically is one of the major concerns that site owners need to address. With Joomla sites being managed by multiple Super Admins, it can be a pain to enforce a policy on this easily.

So to make your job easier, we have released a new plugin ( already being using by several of our enterprise clients) to give your Joomla site the ability to reset passwords periodically. Note that the plugin is Joomla 1.7/2.5 compatible.

With the password reset plugin you can setup a cron job to periodically reset & email the changed passwords to all the super admins in the system. A great easy to use addon to force periodic password resets. Get it for free ! Note that you need to be logged in to download this addon. Download Password Reset for Joomla 1.7/ 2.5

Pizza & Bugs 2011

This year when Joomla announced that Pizza & Bugs would be held on the 10th of December, we had quite a few groans coming from the members. Most of us were out of Pune that weekend. So we got together & mailed Andrea from the leadership team to ask if we could have it the coming Saturday. And today we got the Approval from OSM !

So we invite all you Joomla Geeks out there in Pune to join us as we squash bugs & help get Joomla! 2.5 ready for release early in January 2012. OSM is sponsoring the Pizza & Soda & we have got our friends at Techjoomla to loan us their Office & Wifi for the event.
Here's the official announcement from Joomla

We are announcing a Joomla! Pizza Bugs and Fun 2011 event . The event is global for virtual participants with local venues where ever they are organized. Help us prepare Joomla! 2.5 for release early in January 2012! Our goal is to work on coding and testing issues in the CMS Issue Tracker as well as working on coding and testing new features for the new release. The coding will obviously require programmers to do, but you don’t need to be able to code to test. You will need to set your computer up to run Joomla locally (for instance, with XAMPP) and be able to apply patches. To do documentation, all you need is a login to the Joomla documentation wiki. If you don't already have one you can register on the site at http://docs.joomla.org.
