Am I the only one getting ****?

I am including a screenshot of what I get with the new JBolo installed. In the past this wasn't an issue and I'm not sure what to make of this. Whenever a message is sent, a series of asterisks (***) are placed between each word. Anyone have an idea what might be causing this behavior?
