Embed not working on ios

I have a website where the embed works fine on any browser on a computer, but does not function correctly on ios platform - normally the embed appears in its own window within the article and can be scrolled and downloaded as required; on the ios view there is no background or frame for the document but just the first page of content can be seen against the page background colour and cannot be scrolled. ANy ideas how to resolve? I am using joomla version 3.10.11
