Error "There were errors while sending your invites" when I send messages to my friends by using Twitter

Almost every time, having authorised the app, chosen the people i want to send to, and clicked send, it returns me to the invite page, with a message saying "There were errors while sending your invites."

I've tried changing the message being sent to just text (no links / or [replacements] ), and it makes no difference
